Director of Clinical Operations


JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Clinical Operations provides clinical leadership and direction to medical personnel under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and the President of Operations. The Director of Clinical Operations works directly with leadership, providers, clinic managers, clinic team members, corporate resources and partners to achieve high quality care, exceptional service. This role will involve continuously evaluating orientation processes for all providers and clinical staff, developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical education curricula, coordinating clinical placements, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. The individual will evaluate and monitor the preceptor program to include training preceptors for all clinical positions. The individual is dedicated to improving the delivery and quality of healthcare to patients while being part of a medical community and operating under the instructions and policies of Quick Visit. The Director of Clinical Operations will be responsible for serving as a function leader, manager, and advisor on subject matter for clinical operations to improve the quality of care, patient flow, clinical policy, and protocols. A minimum of six shifts per month in the clinic to maintain skills.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Develop, implement, and evaluate onboarding training and chheck-offs for all staff.
  2. Ensure clinical documentation process and training in EMR
  3. Ensure that clinical education programs meet accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
  4. Evaluate education deficits within staff to include didactic and skill needs
  5. Oversee the scheduling and coordination of clinical placements of students
  6. Develop and maintain relationship with clinic staff
  7. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of clinical education programs through feedback, chart audits, evaluations and outcome measures.
  8. Utilizes leadership skills through delegation to, communicate with, and evaluate team members.
  9. Collaborates with the President of Operations and the management team to drive overall delivery through the execution of service, customer satisfaction, quality, and efficiencies.
  10. Oversight and execution of all clinical monitoring activities to achieve key metrics, including productivity and quality levels.
  11. Able to directly examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages with acute illnesses and injuries or exacerbations of chronic disease.
  12. Able to advise and direct delegated providers on how to examine, diagnose, and treat patients under QuickVisit's policies and standards.
  13. Comprehensive understanding of EMR and able to advise others on navigation.
  14. Advises on infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  15. Works with CMO/ President of Operations to identify clinic problems and actively participates in the problem-solving process.
  16. Manages provider schedules and assists clinic managers with call-outs.
  17. Hosts EMR training for new providers and schedules new hire provider orientees with preceptors.
  18. Participates in weekly meetings with the management team.
  19. Performs annual performance evaluations on and check-ins with Providers.
  20. Able to work independently and serve as a leader for the team.
  21. Participate in recruitment, retention, and development initiatives
  22. Evaluate staff performance in clinical settings and provide feedback and guidance to ensure professional development
  23. Develop and implement policies and procedures for managing staff progress and remediation in clinical skills and education
  24. Stay current with trends and best practices in clinical education and healthcare
  25. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance educational program and improvement of patient care.
  26. Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION

  • Clinical Training in Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Qualified to diagnosis and treat complex health conditions of the body and mind
  • Valid state license or ability to obtain
  • Valid DEA license or ability to obtain
  • Valid DOT license or ability to obtain
  • Valid DOT Drug Test Collector and Collector Trainer certification or ability to obtain
  • Must be in good standing with no restrictions to practice in the state
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
  • Mandatory Reporter
  • Experience in clinical education and leadership roles
  • Strong Leadership and organization skills
