Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years ICU RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Deliver high-quality critical care in a 16-bed ICU unit specializing in medical intensive care patients such as ARDS, sepsis, COPD, DKA, and stroke. This contract position requires a skilled RN with a minimum of 2 years ICU experience, supporting and mentoring newer staff within a teaching hospital system.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert nursing care to ICU patients with a 2:1 RN-to-patient ratio
• Manage complex care including arterial lines, vasoactive medication titration, ventilator management with respiratory therapy support, and chest tube care
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, hospitalists, RT, phlebotomy, and resource nurses
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and transport
• Support and mentor new graduates, fostering a confident and knowledgeable nursing team
• Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and GE monitoring equipment

Qualifications & Experience:

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; first-time travelers with strong ICU background considered
• Skilled in arterial line management, ventilation weaning, chest tube care, and critical thinking in high-acuity settings
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts starting at 06:45 with every-other-weekend rotation and holiday coverage at 75%
