Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our team in Winston Salem, North Carolina. This long-term contract position is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in payroll and accounting to oversee comprehensive payroll operations. The role requires ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in payroll processes while collaborating with internal teams to enhance efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Manage monthly and bi-weekly payroll cycles with precision, adhering to regulatory standards.
• Review and validate payroll data, including adjustments, retroactive payments, deductions, and direct deposits.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare journal entries related to payroll activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of federal and state payroll reports.
• Generate payroll reports for audits, compliance purposes, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain and update payroll procedures, documentation, and workflow materials.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and other departments to support payroll accuracy and effective communication.
• Contribute to system upgrades, process improvements, and resolution of payroll-related issues.• Associate degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll or accounting, or equivalent experience demonstrating attention to detail.
• Proven expertise in full-cycle payroll operations and multi-state payroll management.
• Familiarity with enterprise HR/payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Ellucian Banner.
• Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and accounting principles.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure accurate payroll processing.
• Ability to produce high-quality payroll reports for audits and compliance.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across departments.
• Customer service orientation with a focus on resolving payroll inquiries efficiently.
