Position Overview and Qualifications
This role emphasizes CUSTOMER SERVICE. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication abilities, be knowledgeable about available resources, and understand how to access them effectively.
You will be expected to solve problems on a daily basis and collaborate with multiple departments. A self-motivated and adaptable individual, you will maintain a calm and empathetic demeanor when interacting with both patients and staff. Additionally, you will communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient and family concerns.
It is essential to function efficiently within the Surgery/Perioperative area to ensure smooth patient flow.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program, holding an Associate Degree in Nursing, Diploma, or BSN. Familiarity with AORN Standards and Recommended Practices is necessary, and knowledge of PNDS (Perioperative Nursing Data Sets) is advantageous.
Licensure/Certifications: A current RN license from the Kansas Board of Nursing or an active compact license is required. Certification in BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is also necessary.
Preferred qualifications include CNOR and/or specialty certifications.
Experience: Previous experience in Surgery is required, including skills in circulating and scrubbing.
