Job Description

Plant Mechanic – Tulsa, OK

Industry: Heavy Civil / Aggregates / Construction Materials
Status: Full-Time
Timeline: Immediate / ASAP
Reporting Line: Reports to VP of Fleet / Fleet Leadership

Role Summary

A heavy civil / aggregates operation in the Tulsa area is seeking an experienced Plant Mechanic to support crushing operations and overall plant maintenance.

This is a plant-first role, not a general fleet mechanic position. The individual will primarily work on crushers, screeners, conveyors, and plant systems, while also supporting heavy equipment and trucks as needed.

Position Overview

  • Primarily based at a plant location (not a travel-heavy field role)
  • Reports into fleet leadership but supports plant operations directly
  • Focused on maintaining uptime across crushing and material processing systems
  • Open to Tulsa-area candidates first; OKC/regional candidates considered if strong

Core Requirement (Non-Negotiable)

  • Direct, hands-on crusher experience is required
  • Must have worked on crushers, not just around them
  • Strong preference for candidates who can:
    • Troubleshoot independently
    • Perform teardown and rebuilds
    • Maintain and repair plant systems with minimal direction

Primary Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair crushers and plant processing equipment
  • Maintain and repair:
    • Screeners
    • Conveyors
    • Feeders and related systems
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
  • Utilize diagnostic tools/software (CAT ET, John Deere, etc.)
  • Support maintenance of heavy equipment and heavy-duty trucks as needed
  • Report breakdowns, parts needs, and repair priorities to fleet leadership
  • Perform post-repair inspections to ensure proper operation
  • Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately and on time
  • Maintain a clean work area or service truck and address spills immediately
  • Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of heavy equipment repair experience
  • Required:
    • Hands-on crusher repair and maintenance experience
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with screeners, conveyors, and plant systems
    • Heavy-duty truck repair experience
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred
  • Must have own tools
  • Basic computer skills for work orders and diagnostics
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a production environment

Candidate Profile

  • Plant-focused mechanic who understands downtime = lost production
  • Comfortable working around active crushing operations
  • Able to diagnose and fix issues without constant supervision
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and accountable
  • Backgrounds may include:
    • Aggregates / quarry
    • Asphalt / paving
    • Sand & gravel
    • Heavy civil construction
    • Crushing operations
