Degree in Radiologic Technology, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Ultrasound certification, and minimum 1+ years Imaging experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Bring your expertise in general ultrasound imaging to a dynamic maternal-fetal medicine practice. This contract role focuses on comprehensive obstetric ultrasound care for high-risk pregnancies, providing critical imaging services to support maternal, fetal, and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth obstetric ultrasounds, including first trimester (NT, early anatomy), detailed second- and third-trimester anatomy surveys, growth scans, and biophysical profiles (BPP)
- Conduct ultrasound evaluations for multiple gestations, cervical length, placental assessment (including PAS), and Doppler studies (umbilical artery, MCA, ductus venosus)
- Identify abnormal findings and evaluate complex maternal and fetal conditions, supporting high-risk and specialized exams
- Provide compassionate care to patients, explaining procedures clearly, maintaining privacy, and offering emotional sensitivity throughout the exam process
- Acquire and document high-quality diagnostic images; complete all measurements with accuracy
- Enter exam data into EMR/PACS systems, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards such as AIUM and ACR
- Maintain workflow efficiency while upholding clinical and regulatory standards
- Collaborate closely with maternal-fetal medicine physicians, radiologists, nurses, genetic counselors, and support staff
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary care coordination and support fetal therapy or invasive procedures performed by physicians (including amniocentesis, CVS, PUBS, and selective fetal reduction, with sonographers providing support but not performing or guiding these procedures)
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Advanced skills in general and obstetric ultrasound, with experience in high-risk pregnancy imaging
- Strong knowledge of maternal and fetal anatomy, Doppler studies, and accreditation requirements
- Proficient with EMR/PACS and digital imaging documentation
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to support patients compassionately under stress
- Proven track record of collaborative, multidisciplinary work in a clinical imaging setting
