Position Overview
As Plant Manager, you will oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production scheduling, personnel supervision, safety compliance, quality control, and equipment maintenance. This is a key leadership role that reports directly to the company owner and is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, team-focused, small-company environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of approximately 10 production staff across plating, prep, and shipping.
- Schedule and prioritize jobs to ensure on-time delivery while maintaining high quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company procedures.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
- Monitor quality control processes and troubleshoot production issues promptly.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and work with vendors to ensure materials are on-hand.
- Collaborate directly with ownership to align plant operations with company goals.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts related to efficiency, safety, and product quality.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory or plant leadership role, ideally within plating, finishing, or metal manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of chrome and/or nickel plating processes strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead a small team with a hands-on approach and positive leadership style.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working around industrial equipment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with ownership and shop floor employees.
