Job Description
Job DescriptionMechanical Engineer duties & requirements:Provide expertise in mechanical/processing engineering to assure that the physical plant is routinely operating optimally, and all health care systems remain operational under any internal or external stress. The candidate shall have knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and how these individual pieces of equipment operate as overall systems and processes to provide the required power, heat, air conditioning, chilled water, routine water supply, security, fire, structural integrity, Building Management System etc. to effectively operate a facility. Additional duties include but are not limited to:
- Analyze and develop solutions to mechanical issues associated with ATAMMC infrastructure upgrade projects.
- Analyze and verify property air supply to all critical rooms.
- Verify relative humidity and make adjustments as needed.
- Provide technical input on preventive maintenance programs for critical infrastructure systems.
- Troubleshoot facility critical mechanical systems requiring improvements.
- Work with Mechanical Engineer to develop manuals for operators.
- Review architect-engineer designs for technical adequacy and compliance with specifications and standards.
- Provide expertise on building controls issues related to heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Complete required annual security trainings.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, ABET Accredited Program
- Have knowledge of how each system operates to support the outputs, including maintenance plans and range of operation.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Building Design Industry
- Minimum of 2 years' ME design experience
- US Citizenship required
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in healthcare design projects, such as hospital renovations, imaging equipment installation or office design including HVAC.
- General building design experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with Tridium/Delta/Niagra Building Management Controls.
- Ability to analyze control systems and equipment to diagnose problems and develop solutions.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in using CAD software and Microsoft Office programs.
