Pride Health is hiring for a Cytogenetic Technologist to support our client’s medical facility based in Charlotte, NC 28208. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Job Description:
- This role is responsible for performing chromosome analysis, FISH testing, specimen culturing, harvesting, slide preparation, staining, microscopic analysis, and karyotyping procedures to support accurate diagnostic testing and patient care.
- Have hands-on experience in chromosome analysis of blood and bone marrow specimens, FISH analysis, and cytogenetics wet bench setup.
Job Details:
- Sample set up, harvesting, slide preparation, and staining
- Blood, bone marrow, and biopsy culturing procedures
- Microscopic analysis, karyotyping, and FISH analysis
- Quality control of culture apparatus and incubator monitoring
- Record keeping, supply management, and orientation of new personnel
- Participation in validation studies for new test development
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Life Science or Medical Laboratory Science.
- Certifications: Current CG (ASCP) Certification (Cytogenetics Technologist).
Additional Information:
- Location: Charlotte, NC 28208
- Job Type: Full-time
- Schedule: Sun - 8:00am - 5:30pm, Mon - Wed 10:30am - 9:00pm, with rotating on-call and holiday coverage
- Pay Range: $33.00 - $43/hour - exact rate will be discussed with HR
