Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with at least 2 years of ICU experience and active WA or compact licensure for a night shift position with required floating in the region.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Position is in a hospital-based ICU with a 10-bed unit
- Patient population includes COVID, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, sepsis, and DKA cases
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 2:1 in ICU, may stretch to 3:1 during high census
- 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
- Float required to other units and hospitals within the region as needed
- Centralized scheduling with 1 twelve-hour orientation shift
- Epic EMR is used for all charting
- Access to respiratory therapy 24/7 with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow equipment
- Remote monitor techs available, but RNs must read their own cardiac strips
- RNs are responsible for titrating sedation, pressors, diuretics, insulin, and amiodarone drips
- Must be willing to float throughout the region, including to med/surg, telemetry, PCU, and ED boarders as needed
- Rotating holiday coverage with permanent staff is required
- No specific scrub color is required; professional scrubs may be worn
- 24-hour charge nurse support on the unit and hospitalist coverage available
- Returning candidates must not have worked at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year

- Active WA or compact state RN license required at time of consideration
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
- Experience with ventilated patients, cath lab recovery, therapeutic hypothermia, and titrating critical drips
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references: one supervisor from the last 12 months and another from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
