Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist to support students in an educational setting located in West Des Moines, IA. This role involves traveling between schools, providing valuable therapy services that enhance students abilities to succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized occupational therapy services to students within multiple school environments
- Assess student needs and develop tailored intervention plans to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create supportive learning plans
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state regulations
- Adapt therapy techniques to meet diverse student needs and promote inclusion
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) with relevant state certification
- Experience working in school-based settings preferred
- Strong understanding of child development and educational goals
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and communication
- Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned school district
