Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret oral and sign language communications accurately and effectively between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and hearing individuals.
• Facilitate inclusive participation of students in classroom discussions and activities.
• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and support staff to coordinate services and optimize learning opportunities.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting assignments.
• Assist in developing strategies to enhance communication access and educational outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of deaf culture.
• Previous experience interpreting in educational settings is highly desirable.
• Ability to travel within the assigned school district.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Certification from a recognized interpreting body is a plus.
