We are looking for a Construction Biller / Bookkeeper who can manage monthly progress billing cycles, certified payroll reporting for state projects, and various administrative duties. While prior construction billing experience is highly preferred, the company is committed to training the right person who brings strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit monthly progress billings for construction projects.
- Complete and submit certified payroll reports for state and public jobs.
- Review, manage, and track insurance certifications and compliance documentation.
- Support general bookkeeping functions, including data entry and record maintenance.
- Work closely with project managers and administrative staff to ensure accurate, timely billing.
- Provide administrative support as needed to keep office operations running smoothly.
- Learn and utilize Sampro (Data Basics) software for billing and documentation management.
- Assist with tasks historically handled by long‑tenured billing and accounting personnel.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn specialized billing processes—company will train the right person.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (basic to intermediate: spreadsheets, formulas, formatting).
- Comfortable handling time-sensitive monthly deadlines.
- Willingness to learn specific requirements related to certified payroll and insurance documentation.
•Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Notary Public certification—or willingness to obtain (company will support certification).
- Prior experience with construction billing, progress billing, or certified payroll.
- Experience working with HVAC, construction, or service industry billing systems.
- Familiarity with Sampro or similar construction/contractor billing software.
