Position Summary

The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all EHS activities across the Atlanta and Laurens manufacturing sites. This role will ensure a safe working environment, maintain compliance with all applicable environmental and safety regulations, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance, environmental responsibility, and employee engagement.

The EHS Manager will develop, implement, and oversee EHS programs, policies, procedures, training, audits, and corrective actions while partnering closely with Operations, Human Resources, Legal, and Facilities Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all Environmental Health & Safety activities across both manufacturing locations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations, including OSHA and environmental guidelines.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard evaluations, safety audits, and inspections to identify and resolve potential risks.
• Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Provide EHS training and development to employees at all levels.
• Promote a strong safety culture by encouraging employee participation in safety programs and initiatives.
• Oversee waste management and pollution prevention programs, including proper collection, storage, and disposal methods.
• Develop and maintain emergency response and preparedness plans.
• Track, monitor, and report EHS metrics, KPIs, safety trends, and workplace ergonomics.
• Communicate EHS goals, challenges, initiatives, and progress to leadership, employees, and external stakeholders.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies and represent the company’s EHS interests and commitments.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS practices into daily operations.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and lead EHS-related projects from planning through implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in an EHS role.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership capacity.
• Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety programs, SDS requirements, environmental compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to develop and implement EHS programs, policies, and corrective action plans.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Operations, HR, Legal, Facilities, leadership, and plant-level employees.
• Ability to influence, coach, and promote accountability across all levels of the organization.
• Strong resilience and ability to push forward through challenges and setbacks.
