PRN Dietitian
Job Purpose: Responsible for patient consultation and nutritional education. Responsible for approving patient menus. Is a part of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare workers. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with Dietary department on menu design and approve all menus and special diets.
• Direct nutritional aspects of client care and treatment. Coordinate continuity of service with other
departments.
• Conduct nutritional assessment, individual consultation and education of clients on special diet(s).
• Provide regular group instruction in nutrition during recovery and the prevention of relapse.
• Review and approve diet manual with appropriate revisions to same as needed.
• Develop protocol regarding special diets.
• Ensure that special diet instructions are implemented.
• Record appropriate/pertinent nutrition information on charts as required.
• Evaluate food items for compliance with the philosophy of the facility.
• Assist in the development of department goals, policies, and procedures.
• Provides patient consultation within timeframe requested.
• Maintains patient confidentiality as required by HIPAA.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must have a current Dietitian Licensure in the State of Florida. Registered Dietitian strongly preferred.
At least three (3) years experience working as a dietitian or nutritionist is preferred. Experience in behavioral health or chemical dependency is preferred.
Proficient/strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook) and the ability to navigate EMR systems.
Must be able to function independently and communicate effectively with staff and external contacts.
Must have highly developed organizational and planning and the ability to work effectively with others.
Proven professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication.
Must have proven record of great customer service and ability to assist multiple people professionally, effectively, and efficiently.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or similarly related field required.
