We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. This role is essential in providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in the areas of Reading and Literacy. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Create engaging lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
- Utilize behavioral therapy techniques to support students' emotional and behavioral development.
- Conduct assessments, including standardized testing, to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to student education.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress towards IEP goals.
- Provide support in areas such as speech therapy and toddler care as needed.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages participation and respect among students.
Skills
- Background in literacy
- Strong background in classroom management techniques, particularly in a preschool or private school setting.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy practices and their application in an educational context.
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation processes.
- Ability to conduct standardized testing effectively and interpret results for instructional planning.
- Experience working with students with special needs, demonstrating patience, empathy, and adaptability.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents, staff, and external professionals.
