Kitchen Hood Cleaning Crew Leader
Job Description
Job Description
Kitchen Hood Cleaning Crew Leader (Overnight) — Paid Training, No Experience Required
Most people aren't built for this work. That's exactly why it pays so well.
HOODZ of the Lowcountry & Coastal Georgia is part of the largest commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning network in the country. Our crews climb roofs at 2 am, blast through layers of grease, and make sure commercial kitchens don't burn down. We protect restaurants, hospitals, schools, and hotels from kitchen fires — and we do it at a level nobody else in the region can match.
We're not hiring for a position. We're recruiting the next generation of Crew Leaders.
The path: Weeks 1-4: Trainee at $20/hour, paid training from scratch. Hard 30-day go/no-go evaluation. Months 1-5: Technician on production pay — 11% of job revenue. Our best crews earn $25+/hour. Months 5+: Crew Leader — 14% of job revenue. You run your own truck, lead your own crew, and train the next person behind you. Our best crews earn $30+/hour. 12+ months: Senior Crew Leader — 14% of job revenue + team management bonus. You run your truck plus manage 1 to 2 other trucks.
What the work actually looks like — read carefully: You'll work overnight shifts, Sunday through Thursday, typically 10-12+ hours. You'll climb roofs in January and August. You'll get covered in grease every single shift. You'll pressure wash commercial kitchen exhaust systems in confined spaces, on ladders, and in the heat. You'll drive a company truck to 2-3 job sites per night.
If that sounds miserable, this isn't for you. If that sounds like a challenge you want to conquer, keep reading.
Compensation:
$20 - $35 hourly
Responsibilities:
- Complete every job to HOODZ quality standards — zero callbacks, every time
- Set up each site safely using proper PPE, ladder protocols, and lockout procedures
- Protect the customer's kitchen and equipment during cleaning and teardown

- Maintain your truck — daily inspections, organized equipment, report issues immediately
- Communicate clearly with customers on-site and Hoodz operations manager: check-in, status updates, check-out
- Train and develop your crew partner (Crew Leader track) and hold them to the standard
Qualifications:
- Willing and able to work overnight shifts (Sunday-Thursday, 6 pm-9 am typical)
- Physically able to climb ladders, work on roofs, lift 50+ lbs, and work in confined spaces
- Comfortable getting dirty — grease, chemicals, tight spaces are every shift
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reliable — shows up on time, finishes what you start, no excuses
- Coachable — takes feedback, follows a proven process, wants to improve
- Able to pass a background check and drug screening
- No kitchen exhaust experience required — we train from scratch. We care about who you are, not where you've been
