A leading retail pharmacy operation is seeking experienced staff pharmacists to support per diem coverage across multiple pharmacy locations in the greater Mesa, AZ area. This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists looking to work part-time and provide essential backup during call outs, vacations, and peak volume periods.
Pharmacy hours typically run Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with some stores extending to 8 p.m. The average prescription volume ranges from 100 to 125 per day, supported by a strong technician team to ensure efficient workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and safely in a retail setting.
- Provide patient counseling on medication use, side effects, and immunizations.
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and healthcare providers for optimal patient care.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Participate in an initial 8-hour training shift, with additional training available as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of 1-2 years experience in retail pharmacy; preference given to candidates with 5+ years.
- Active pharmacist license in good standing (Arizona).
- Immunization certification and current BLS (Basic Life Support) credential.
- Familiarity with QS1 pharmacy system is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage patient interactions professionally.
