Position Summary of the Machine Operator Role at Altek Electronics:
Responsible for set-up, operation and preventive Maintenance of assigned machines
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Machine Operator are described below, other duties may be assigned:
- Performs routine set up, operation, and preventative maintenance of Wave and Depanel equipment.
- Controls and adjusts machine settings.
- Inspects in-process parts to ensure quality meet requirements and identifies quality issues.
- Operates light-duty bench or floor-type machine tools and equipment such as the FKN depanelizers, board routers, pallet cleaners, or stencil cleaners.
- Ensures accurate documentation of all relevant quality, safety, and maintenance documents.
- Assists in resolving routine manufacturing related problems affecting daily operations.
- Selects appropriate processes from clearly documented rules, past practices, or instruction.
- Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from manager.
- Responsible for following established safety rules & 6S.
- Participates in and supports Process Improvements
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Good eyesight and hand coordination
- Ability to read & understand assembly prints and Digital Traveler documents
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct simple mechanical problems
- Basic component identification skills
- Ability to work in a team environment with moderate supervision
- IPC-A-610 certification required, or successful completion of certification program per an agreed upon timeline.
Education and/or Experience
- HS diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrates understanding of routine aspects of work.
- Typically, up to 2 years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Essential Duties & Responsibilities as presented above.
Working Relationships
Works with moderate supervision from Lead or Supervisor
Working Conditions
Work involves standing and walking for the entire work shift. Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds.
