Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A part-time virtual Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year, running ASAP through June 11, 2026. This position supports students in middle and high school through specialized resource instruction within a virtual academy setting, serving grades 6-8 STEM and 6-12 resource caseloads.
This role is designed for a dedicated educator who holds North Carolina Special Education certification and is passionate about providing tailored educational support in a virtual learning environment. The position requires availability Monday through Friday for 25 hours weekly, plus an additional hour designated for planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized resource instruction to students with diverse learning needs in grades 6-8 STEM and 6-12.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state standards.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to ensure student progress and success.
- Utilize virtual instructional platforms to engage and support students effectively.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of student performance and interventions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid North Carolina Special Education certification.
- Experience working with middle and high school students in special education settings.
- Proficient with virtual teaching technologies and digital classroom management.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, and staff.
