CNC Programmer/Machinist – Precision Prototyping & Manufacturing

Talentry is excited to collaborate with our trusted client, a 45+ year leader in industrial automation equipment manufacturing, to recruit a skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist for their growing Livermore, CA facility.
Our client specializes in designing and building high-precision heat-staking and sealing machines, custom automation systems, and tooling solutions for global industries. Renowned for their expertise in heat-staking technology, they create innovative solutions for assembling plastics, films, foils, and heat-seal connectors. All equipment is designed, manufactured, and assembled in-house, with a focus on high-precision prototypes and short-run production.
The in-house CNC machine shop is central to their operations, enabling rapid prototyping and precision tooling to meet stringent specifications. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to work on diverse materials, components, and projects that demand expertise, creativity, and precision.
Must reside within 1 hour of Livermore, CA
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, program, set up, and operate CNC machines for prototype and short-run production
- Machine various materials to tight tolerances for custom automation components and tooling
- Collaborate with engineering and assembly teams to support rapid prototyping initiatives
- Optimize machining processes, troubleshoot issues, and enhance efficiency in a fast-paced environment
- Accurately interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Perform periodic overtime to meet project deadlines as needed
Required Experience & Skills
- 3–5+ years of hands-on CNC machining and programming experience
- Advanced proficiency in CNC lathe programming (G Code is essential)
- Expertise in machine setups, operation, and precision inspections
- Experience working with diverse materials, including plastics, metals, and composites
- Familiarity with manual lathe operations (preferred)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high productivity
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Collaborative team player with a professional demeanor and strong work ethic
- Detail-oriented, organized, and mechanically adept
- Self-driven with a passion for learning and continuous improvement
- Skilled in problem-solving and process optimization
- Thrives in a supportive, team-oriented culture
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle portable equipment
