Key Responsibilities You Will Own:

  • Lead a World-Class Close Process: Redesign and drive a monthly financial close process that is precise, timely, and scalable. You will own all balance sheet reconciliations and partner with cross-functional leaders to ensure data integrity.
  • Champion Financial Compliance & Audit Readiness: Maintain year-round audit readiness, ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements, and lead coordination with external auditors.
  • Enhance Risk Management & Controls: Apply audit-derived best practices to assess financial risks, design mitigation strategies, and implement internal controls to protect company assets.
  • Deliver Strategic Financial Insights: Go beyond reporting by translating financial data into actionable insights for the executive team. You will ensure strict adherence to U.S. GAAP and other applicable standards.
  • Oversee Payroll & Sales Compensation: Ensure accurate and timely payroll and sales incentive calculations, and collaborate with Sales and HR to refine compensation plans that drive performance.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Identify, design, and implement process improvements across all finance activities. You will champion automation, standardization, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a Strategic Partner: Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO, providing forward-looking financial analysis and recommendations to inform strategic decisions.
  • Manage Cash Flow & Capital Planning: Oversee short- and long-term cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and partner with the CFO on capital structure management.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong public accounting background (audit side) is preferred; experience with a Big 4 or large regional firm is ideal.
  • A proven track record as a Controller or senior finance leader in a growth-oriented company.
  • Demonstrated success in building or overhauling accounting processes for scalability.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting software implementation or optimization. Bonus points for experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central), Paylocity, or Ramp.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills.
  • The ability to operate as a strategic business partner, connecting financial outcomes to key business decisions.
