Position Overview
The Chef de Cuisine is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation. This role works closely with ownership and senior leadership to execute a refined culinary vision while maintaining operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and inspire the kitchen team to uphold fine dining standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including prep, service, and execution
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across all dishes
- Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
- Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Control food cost, labor cost, and minimize waste
- Collaborate on seasonal menu development and culinary innovation
- Foster a positive, professional, and disciplined kitchen culture
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef in a fine dining environment
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Deep knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and plating standards
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-expectation setting
- Strong organizational and financial acumen (food/labor cost control)
- Culinary degree preferred, but not required with equivalent experience
