Prestige Staffing is looking for a Surgery Scheduler to work full time in Atlanta, GA!
Hours: Monday - Friday 8-5
EMR: EPIC
Pay: 20-24/hour
- We are looking for an individual with strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
- One year of experience in a medical-surgical scheduling setting
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, surgical procedures, and insurance terminology
- Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and team members and be capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in computers, relevant software applications, and EHR systems
Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include scheduling surgical procedures with hospitals and surgery centers for both inpatient and outpatient surgeries
- The job also requires coordinating pre-operative and post-operative appointments, answering patient questions, discussing the surgical procedure, informing patients regarding insurance coverage and patient responsibility, and maintaining an efficient schedule for the surgeons
- Follow up with the patients to provide information and then communicate to the appropriate staff
- Performs prior authorizations for scheduled procedures
- Performs work-related tasks and projects as required, document, document, document, and all other duties as assigned
