Job Title: Substitute Teacher (K-11th grades)

Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Colorado, Windsor, CO

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Dean of Faculty

Work Hours/Days: Part-Time, up to 29 hours/week, scheduling through TAGG

Wage: Teachers earn $150/full day, $75/half day Teaching Assistants earn $110/day, $55/half day

Benefits: Sick time, Employee Assistance Plan

Position Summary:

The Board of Directors at ACANC have contracted with Minga Education Group to provide employment services for all staff that work onsite at ACANC. Through this partnership, MEG provides ACANC with employment services, personnel system for human resources, benefits, payroll services as well as access to a 401k plan. For naming purposes, Minga Education Group is the employer.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrate high moral character and embrace the virtues of a democratic society
  • High school diploma (Associate degree or higher is preferred)
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Satisfactory background check as required by state law and Colorado Department of Education
  • Conviction in the values of a rigorous liberal arts education
  • Loyalty to the school and ACA's mission and vision
  • Commitment to model moral character in line with the school's core virtues
  • Adherence to all ACA policies, including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, Family Handbook, and all applicable school and board policies
  • Punctuality and attendance
  • Initiative and effort
  • Professionalism in appearance and speech
  • Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to traverse classroom and adjust ones tone and height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each child.
