Position Title: Pharmaceutical Account Manager

Reports To: Director of Sales and Marketing

Function: Sales

Location: Denver, Colorado

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Employment Type: Full Time Employee

Position Summary: Under general supervision of the Director of Sales and Marketing the Pharmaceutical Account Manager (PAM) drives business by selling pharmaceutical products to pharmacies via phone. The PAM employs and executes a variety of sales techniques and campaigns, all while providing superior customer service. The PAM works with existing customers, along with building new accounts, as they work towards becoming the preferred source for all the customers’ pharmaceutical needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the development of a shared vision for Pharma Source Direct presence in the

Compounding market to help meet or exceed the segments’ financial goals and

objectives.

  • Conducts outbound sales calls to targeted groups of customers with the objective(s) of new

account acquisition, existing account expansion and existing account retention.

  • Solicits competitive intelligence information from customers.
  • Creates and maintains a positive image of the Company by building positive business

relationships with internal and external customers, business partners, and employees.

  • Develop detailed account plans for key Compounding accounts including high potential

product categories, sales growth and profitability projections, sales activity plans, targeted

promotions, cross-functional support requirements, etc.

  • Remains knowledgeable on changes in the Compounding Market; evaluates industry and

business trends for potential impact on the organization; develops sales strategies to

leverage market opportunities and utilizes research to determine feasibility; explores new

sales opportunities by analyzing competitive information and establishing courses of

action to obtain new business.

  • Experience and Educational Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced, team

environment and manage multiple tasks. Requires broad training in fields such as

business administration, accounting, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar

vocations generally obtained through completion of a two (2) or four (4) year degree

program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the

healthcare, compounding pharmacy, and/or pharmaceutical industries are preferred but

not required.

  • Language Ability: Ability to demonstrate articulate and courteous phone manner, strong

customer service, selling and negotiation skills. Ability to handle and execute difficult

conversations professionally with customers and associates. Ability to write and

effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients,

customers, and the general public.

  • Math Ability: Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such fractions,

percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid

conclusions and decisions. Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills and

attention to detail.

  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the

Microsoft Office suite of applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and

with Internet Explorer. Knowledge of Company’s proprietary FACTS and CRM systems is

preferable.
