Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
2nd shift, Wax Injection Assembler (M-F, 2p-10p)
Position Summary
Report directly to the wax room department lead person or designated back up. Follow the direction and supervision set forth by the lead person to achieve and accomplish daily goals and expectations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Wax room employees must be able to produce acceptable PAR performance at all wax room stations.
- Rotate workstations on a mandatory and regular basis to operate all wax injection machines and workstations in the department including assembly. This will ensure adequate cross training is required to cover changing workloads and absenteeism.
- Consistently complete first piece checks and sign off and electronic completion of first piece checks for wax injection. (M9-3-1)
- Consistently provide meaningful feedback related to PAR metrics.
- Employees must be able to manipulate all molds to facilitate set up of presses and removal of wax patterns.
- Ability to interpret and comply with all Wax room related ISO 9001 work Procedures.
- Ability to interpret and follow all job specific manufacturing routing information.
- Visually inspect all wax parts, assemblies and trees for surface acceptance. All wax parts that require repair to remove any unacceptable surface defects such as holes, scratches in wax patterns that will appear to be cracks in cast products must be filled in wax and will be repaired at the assembly step.
- Distorted parts and bent spirals must be straightened or rejected by the NCR process. Any questions in regard to wax repair for appearance shall be determined by the Wax Room Leadsperson and Foundry Supervisor.
- Monitor and maintain all wax room records, routing tickets, first piece tool inspections and sign-off, first piece assembly and tree inspection and sign-off in the Manufacturing data Information File within the Production Data Screen and the department Job Queue Screens of the EDA Computer System.
- Must have the ability to operate all wax room equipment. Including, but not limited to the following: hand tools, wax injection machines including ability to change wax canisters, wax melters, wax tempering cabinets, etc.
- Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with all other personnel. Flexibility to assist/work in all other Foundry Departments as needed.
- Employees must utilize the NCR system for all cases in which parts need to be re-made due to bad or broken parts or any time a job falls below the minimum quantity for that job step. (M11-2-1)
- Overtime is available as determined by the Foundry Supervisor.
- Workstation queues are reviewed with the Wax Room Lead person on a regular basis for this determination.
*Be at your workstation on time to start production at the start of your shift. 6:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. unless special arrangements have been made with the Foundry Supervisor to alter individual work hours temporarily.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training in machining or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely carry parts between workstations.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
