Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An exciting opportunity is available for experienced Teachers of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to support K-12 students in a full-time, contract role beginning as soon as possible through May 22, 2026. This position serves a dynamic school community in the Franklin area of Tennessee, providing specialized educational services tailored to learners with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Deliver direct instruction and support across K-12 grade levels, adapting teaching methods to meet students unique communication needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and families to foster an inclusive learning environment.
- Utilize assistive technologies and resources effectively to enhance student learning and communication.
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to ensure academic and social success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Tennessee teaching license with endorsement in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education.
- Proven experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of current best practices and educational standards for DHH instruction.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and educational teams.
- Ability to design and implement instructional programs tailored to diverse learning needs.
Location: Franklin area, Tennessee
Position Type: Full-time, contract for the current school year with possibility of extension
