Operations Manager- Construction

A dynamic, rapidly growing, and reputable company has an opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager. This key team member will be responsible for interfacing with our customers and overseeing the daily operation of the company. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of Five (5) years of experience as an Operations Manager in the construction (excavating) industry. Responsibilities include overseeing the shop, inventory, purchasing, daily construction activities, materials, forecasting, safety, scheduling crews, vehicles and ensuring that all work is completed as scheduled and meets the quality standards. If you have experience with excavating, dispensing systems, septic, pumps, profit and loss, budgeting, construction management, excellent customer service and leadership skills you may qualify for this position. Essential Duties:

· Proven ability to organize and manage daily activities, including scheduling of workers, delivery of equipment and materials and progress of the project

· Provide leadership to all aspects of your team’s productivity to meet the high quality service standards required by our company

· Responsible for the profitability of all trade work completed

· Ensure all projects are scheduled and completed on time/on budget which includes documentation and billing

· Ensure that adequate planning methodology is maintained to ensure timely completion of projects

· Responsible for overseeing all functions of the organization including Shop, Vehicles, Inventory, Purchasing, Scheduling, and Installations

· Perform employee evaluations of all subordinates

· Plan and implement weekly employee safety meeting agendas

· Review any change orders for each project and ensure approvals

· Responsible for job costing, and tracking metrics

· Ensures that safety standards and procedures are followed

Essential Requirements:

· Verifiable five (5) plus years of experience as an Operations Manager in the construction (excavating) industry

· Project Management/Construction Management preferred

· Proven experience in leading a team of workers, and/or subcontractors with project management experience

· Verifiable knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, local, state, and federal regulations and requirements pertaining to the construction industry

· Experience with managing profitability, job costing, inventory, equipment, safety, and measuring metrics

· Ability to make decisions, generate processes and optimize operations

· General knowledge of the building process and detailed knowledge of all aspects of the trades and practices

· Proven competency in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated mathematical aptitude

· Valid driver’s license and the ability to pass DMV

· Degree in Construction Management is highly desirable
