Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available for a dedicated professional in a K-12 school setting located in Aurora, CO. This is a leave contract position, with an anticipated start as soon as possible and an end date of March 2, 2026. There is potential for extension, to be determined at the end of February 2026.
Key Requirements:
- Must hold a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Professional Teacher License with Generalist Endorsement in Special Education (Grades 5-21).
- Licenses such as Travelers, Substitute, Temporary, or Interim are not accepted unless you have already applied for the required SPED license with proof of submission.
- License example format: Professional Teacher License #000000, Endorsed in Special Education Generalist (5-21).
- Position requires full-time commitment (40 hours per week).
- Not open to virtual or hybrid work arrangements; in-person attendance is mandatory.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction aligned with Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) principles tailored for K-12 students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with the IEP team, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of the IEP process.
- Employ evidence-based instructional strategies and best practices to support students on alternative standards.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success and adherence to educational plans.
