The Production Operator supports a graphite manufacturing facility by safely handling, packaging, and moving materials in a demanding industrial environment. This role involves operating forklifts, bagging and palletizing product, performing quality inspections, and assisting with shipping and receiving on a rotating 12‑hour schedule covering both days and nights.
Responsibilities
- Bag and palletize product according to written instructions and specific order types.
- Vacuum large quantities of product from storage holders into industrial bags in a safe and efficient manner.
- Sort bags and pallets of product to ensure accurate organization and staging for shipment.
- Stage and wrap pallets to prepare them for storage or outbound shipments.
- Load and unload shipments, ensuring proper handling of materials and adherence to safety procedures.
- Perform quality inspections on bags, pallets, and containers to confirm they meet required standards.
- Operate a forklift to move materials, pallets, and finished product throughout the facility.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including organizing incoming and outgoing materials.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use required personal protective equipment while working in a dusty, hot, and noisy environment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area despite dirty working conditions and support overall production workflow as needed.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of industrial or manufacturing experience.
- Experience with palletizing, staging, and lifting materials in a production or warehouse setting.
- Forklift operation experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or general production environment.
- Ability to perform general labor and general production tasks, including bagging and palletizing product.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts, including both day and night shifts.
- Capability to work in a very dirty, dusty, hot, and noisy industrial environment.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and handle heavy materials safely throughout the shift.

Work Environment
This role is based in a small warehouse and manufacturing facility The plant manufactures and distributes graphite, resulting in a very dirty, dusty, hot, and noisy environment. Contractors and employees can expect to get very dirty while working. The dress code requires steel toe boots or shoes and durable work clothes; contractors may wear a T‑shirt and jeans or work pants until uniforms are provided through a uniform service. Personal protective equipment is provided, except for steel toe footwear.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.09 - $20.09/hr.
