Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors related to the specific position. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

Summary:
Plans, lays out, and performs complex TIG welding (GTAW) and MIG Welding (GMAW) on a variety of parts and components such as tubes, ducts, and other products. Welds various types of metal and alloys in all positions to meet uniformity, strength, vacuum tightness, and pressure requirements. Certified to work on Aerospace and Military parts. Trains other employees and works with NPI to launch new products.
Hours: Monday through Thursday, 3:15PM to 1:45AM (Includes 10% Shift Differential!)
Requirements:
Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Set up and weld a variety of parts, including Aerospace and Military components, independently.
- Follow safety rules, use PPE, and report unsafe conditions.
- Review orders and instructions to determine proper materials, processes, and sequencing.
- Prepare workpieces for welding and finish welds using hand and power tools.
- Operate TIG and MIG welding equipment in multiple positions, producing uniform welds.
- Monitor equipment and workpieces, performing inspections and making adjustments as needed.
- Record process data and complete required documentation using computer systems.
- Handle inventory, materials, tooling, and workpieces safely.
- Train other employees on proper equipment operation and safe practices.
- Assist NPI teams with new product processes and setups.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and comply with Lean/5S standards.
Required Skills and Experience (Minimum requirements in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications, or other knowledge, skills, and abilities).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of GTAW precision welding experience.
- Ability to pass AWS D17.1 qualification within first 30 days.
- Able to meet Class A and C requirements with Penetrant and X-Ray inspection; pass annual visual exam.
- Proficient welding various alloys, material thickness range 0.030 – 0.75 inches.
- Experience with GTAW and GMAW equipment, hand/power tools, band saw, row racks, and pallet jacks.
- Knowledge of wire/filler materials, joint setup, purging, torch types, shielding gases, welding voltages, polarities, and tungsten electrode types.
- Able to weld in flat, horizontal, and inclined positions.
- Intermediate blueprint reading, math skills, and visual inspection ability.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Self-directed and able to work independently.
- This position requires the use of information or access to hardware that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All employees must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred or helpful)
- Aluminum and titanium weld experience per AWS D17.1.
- Aerospace weld fabrication experience preferred.
- Completion of GTAW/GMAW training program through vocational school or apprenticeship is preferred.
