An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in a progressive care/stepdown unit located in Alliance, OH. This 13-week contract role focuses on managing patients requiring intermediate monitoring and care, with an emphasis on cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and general medical conditions. Night shift hours with a 12-hour schedule, working every other weekend and holiday, are required. This assignment will not consider local candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, formulating and implementing care plans collaboratively.
  • Safely administer medications including cardiac drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone, and manage advanced respiratory support like BiPAP and ventilators.
  • Coordinate patient care activities across interdisciplinary teams and act as advocate for patient safety and family communication.
  • Manage patients with complex health conditions including multi-organ failure, cardiac events (NSTEMI, cardioversions), neurological monitoring, and critical respiratory care.
  • Assist in clinical education and orientation of nursing staff, upholding evidence-based standards of care.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current RN license with compact state coverage.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Stepdown/Intermediate Care Unit with ventilator management skills required.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications mandatory; NIH Stroke Certification preferred.
  • Travel nursing experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with cardiac rhythm interpretation and ability to titrate cardiac drugs, with support provided for Dysrhythmia Exam readiness.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Working Conditions:
