An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in a progressive care/stepdown unit located in Alliance, OH. This 13-week contract role focuses on managing patients requiring intermediate monitoring and care, with an emphasis on cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and general medical conditions. Night shift hours with a 12-hour schedule, working every other weekend and holiday, are required. This assignment will not consider local candidates.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, formulating and implementing care plans collaboratively.
- Safely administer medications including cardiac drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone, and manage advanced respiratory support like BiPAP and ventilators.
- Coordinate patient care activities across interdisciplinary teams and act as advocate for patient safety and family communication.
- Manage patients with complex health conditions including multi-organ failure, cardiac events (NSTEMI, cardioversions), neurological monitoring, and critical respiratory care.
- Assist in clinical education and orientation of nursing staff, upholding evidence-based standards of care.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current RN license with compact state coverage.
- Minimum 2 years experience in Stepdown/Intermediate Care Unit with ventilator management skills required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications mandatory; NIH Stroke Certification preferred.
- Travel nursing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with cardiac rhythm interpretation and ability to titrate cardiac drugs, with support provided for Dysrhythmia Exam readiness.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Working Conditions:
This role involves high-stress scenarios with exposure to fluctuating workloads and potential physical demands, including lifting and moving patients up to 100 lbs. Exposure to infectious materials requires strict adherence to personal protective equipment protocols.
