Job Details:

\n

• Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
\n• 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
\n• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
\n• Rare on-call or standby requirement for low census situations
\n• No home base facility - must float within Zone 1 covering a 60-mile radius around Colorado Springs, CO
\n• Float facilities include: Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Francis InterQuest, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas More
\n• Schedules released 4-6 weeks in advance; may be assigned to a single facility for the week or receive a just-in-time assignment 1-2 hours before shift start
\n• May be asked to float into any acuity level including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
\n• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 dependent on acuity
\n• Nurse aides available on unit
\n• Float pool covers multiple PCU/IMC units including General, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, ED Obs, and more
\n• Common patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology post-surgical, General Surgery, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, and General Medicine
\n• Must be comfortable titrating and managing cardiac drips, insulin, Ativan, and heparin
\n• Common drips include Dopamine, Dobutamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Ativan, Insulin, and Heparin
\n• RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPap present on unit
\n• Charting system: Epic; prior Epic experience preferred
\n• Minimum 2 years of PCU/IMC experience required; prior neuro experience preferred
\n• Must have experience with cardiac drips, insulin, and Ativan
\n• 1-2 days of orientation with a preceptor provided
\n• All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
\n• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for shorter assignments
\n• Any color scrubs permitted
\n• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
\n• BSN not required; valid state license required for submission
