Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An immediate contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher serving Kindergarten through 5th grade students within a K-12 school setting in Naval Anacost Annex, Washington, DC. This role focuses on delivering both push-in and pull-out instructional services to a caseload of approximately 10 students, supporting diverse learning needs in a public charter environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students in grades K-5.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies to support academic and behavioral goals in both inclusive and resource settings.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure cohesive educational plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and participate in team meetings.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students' unique learning profiles.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching license for Washington, DC.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in Special Education settings.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively, balancing push-in and pull-out service models.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, families, and administration.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and individualized student success.

Schedule and Contract Details:

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Contract term through the current school year, starting immediately.
  • One school assignment.
  • Remote panel interview via Zoom with the Special Education Director.
