Job Description
The Advanced Quality Engineer is responsible for assisting in quality planning activities associated with the introduction of new and enhanced products.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform Advanced Quality Planning; including prototype build plans, prototype control plans, and final Inspection of prototypes.
- Participate and support the FMEA process (DFMEA and PFMEA).
- Work together with the Program Team according to the MQ guidelines, like PEP.
- Provide design feedback and recommendations to engineering and manufacturing personnel based on test and inspection results.
- Participate in internal and external process audits to monitor adherence to policies and procedures.
- Participate in the manufacturing launch of new and enhanced products by assisting in the development of goals and timetables, training of manufacturing personnel, and evaluation of results.
- Contact person for the customer regarding all quality issues from the offer phase to series production.
- Determination of the scope of validation (DV/PV) in cooperation with the project team and coordination with the customer.
- Creating DVPR and testing documents.
- Definition and implementation of the test strategy in the project.
- Participation in customer audits.
- Monitoring of the quality and process indicators and initiation of measures in the start of series production.
- Create PPAP documentation and lead the APQP process with customer.
- Engage in RFQ process ensuring customer requirements are understood.
- Provide training on MQ processes and develop expertise in product quality.
Required Qualifications for this role include:
- 5+ years of related experience in new product launch within the automotive industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Advanced computer skills, including the use of statistical process control (SPC) software.
- Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, manufacturing quality tools, manufacturing methods and processes (including flow, layout, and assembly and production equipment).
- Advanced verbal communication skills, including group presentation, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to prepare complex written reports and other documents.
- Experience in the field of quality planning/assurance or in project management, ideally in the automotive sector.
- Experience in using the common advanced quality planning tools (FMEA, APQP, PPAP, etc.).
- The right candidate will have experience in product development of mechatronics devices, entry authorization systems and power energy solution for vehicles.
- Experience working with GM, Stellantis and Ford.
- Six Sigma black belt and/or CQE certification preferred.
Travel:
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed required (~20%)
