Job Overview:
Soliant Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated ASL Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for the 2024-2025 school year to work onsite with a high school student in Pooke City, MD Area. This is a 1:1 position, providing essential support to ensure effective munication for the student. The ideal candidate will be a skilled interpreter with the ability to foster a positive learning environment for the student they support.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 ASL interpretation for a high school student in a classroom setting
  • Facilitate munication between the student and teachers, peers, and school staff
  • Interpret verbal and non-verbal munication as needed in academic and extracurricular activities
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while interacting with students and staff
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure the students needs are met
  • Adapt to any changes in the students academic environment or daily activities

Requirements:

  • Certification in American Sign Language (ASL) or equivalent (RID or NAD certification preferred)
  • Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred
  • Strong munication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must pass background checks and any state or district-specific requirements
  • Onsite availability required for this position (remote work is not applicable)
