What You’ll Do
You’ll be the go-to RN in the Interventional Radiology (IR) department, helping plan and deliver high-quality patient care before, during, and after procedures. You’ll also help manage the unit when leadership is away.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule patients and ensure smooth flow through the department
- Conduct pre-procedure phone interviews (medical history, medications, allergies)
- Educate patients and provide instructions before procedures
- Arrange labs and support services
- Perform pre- and post-procedure assessments and documentation
- Discharge patients according to hospital policy
- Collaborate with nurses, doctors, patients, and families
- Support quality improvement and research initiatives
- Help manage the unit and staff when the Director is unavailable
- Assist with hiring, training, and scheduling staff
- Monitor and manage department budgets
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Active RN license in Washington, DC
- CPR certification (within 90 days of hire)
Preferred
- ACLS certification
