What You’ll Do

You’ll be the go-to RN in the Interventional Radiology (IR) department, helping plan and deliver high-quality patient care before, during, and after procedures. You’ll also help manage the unit when leadership is away.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule patients and ensure smooth flow through the department
  • Conduct pre-procedure phone interviews (medical history, medications, allergies)
  • Educate patients and provide instructions before procedures
  • Arrange labs and support services
  • Perform pre- and post-procedure assessments and documentation
  • Discharge patients according to hospital policy
  • Collaborate with nurses, doctors, patients, and families
  • Support quality improvement and research initiatives
  • Help manage the unit and staff when the Director is unavailable
  • Assist with hiring, training, and scheduling staff
  • Monitor and manage department budgets
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Active RN license in Washington, DC
  • CPR certification (within 90 days of hire)

Preferred

  • ACLS certification
