The Opportunity
Lonestar Forklift is looking for an experienced Service Manager to join our team in Austin, Texas. As the Service Manager you will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the Service department, including overseeing the work of Technicians and partnering with Service Dispatchers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the Service Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Manage the performance and development of the Service team, including driving the accountability of team members, staffing the department appropriately, and facilitating proper personal training

Partner with the Human Resources department on labor-related and sensitive personnel issues

Contribute to continuous improvement by leading or supporting LEAN initiatives, improving the overall efficiency of the department

Proactively manage the Service fleet as it relates to vehicle purchases, replacements, repairs, and maintenance
-
Ensure departmental profitability and provide new services to our customers

Work in partnership with internal business units to develop and grow key customer accounts, while generating new business and revenue streams

Actively address customer service issues and/or customer disputes

Manage Key Performance Indicators that relate to the Service department

Strategically analyze financial statements, utilizing them as a tool to drive profitability of the department

Advocate and drive compliance on all corporate safety initiatives, policies, and programs
Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

Post-secondary education in Sales, Business, Management, or a related discipline preferred

Mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery or material handling equipment is an asset
-
Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Superior organizational skills and planning skills
-
Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate with employees at all levels
-
Adept at multitasking and managing conflicting priorities
-
Confident self-starter and team player
