Wound Nurse RN
What You'll Do:
As our Wound Care Nurse, you will play a crucial role in assessing, treating, and monitoring wound conditions in collaboration with our interdisciplinary team. Your care planning and interventions will not only improve wound healing but also enhance the comfort and quality of life for our residents. You will be a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator, dedicated to elevating the overall quality of care for individuals with complex wound care needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and provide expertise in our wound care and prevention program for residents and staff.
- Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with skin complications.
- Administer direct wound care interventions, including dressing changes, debridement, and wound irrigation.
- Review, update, and direct the implementation of wound care and prevention policies and procedures.
- Monitor wound healing progress and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment modalities.
- Educate residents, families, and staff on wound care protocols and prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of wound assessments, interventions, and outcomes for regulatory compliance and reimbursement.

What You'll Bring
Qualifications of a Wound Care Nurse include:
- Valid state RN nursing license.
- Degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, or microbiology preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in wound care management, preferably in a Long-Term Care setting.
- Familiarity with research-backed wound care and cleansing products.
- Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) Certification preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Compassion and empathy in caring for residents with complex wound care needs.
- Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and chronically ill.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
