Staff Accountant
Position Overview
Based out of our Irvine HQ close to the freeway and near the Irvine Spectrum, we are a longstanding, family-owned Facilities Services company that provides a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with flexible hours, no micromanagement, and strong career advancement opportunities. We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support our accounting team with day-to-day accounting functions, month-end close activities, and accurate financial record-keeping.
This is an excellent role for someone with a solid accounting foundation who is looking to grow into more advanced responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily accounting operations, including maintaining accurate financial records
- Prepare and post routine journal entries
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Perform account reconciliations and identify/resolve variances
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing as needed
- Help maintain the General Ledger and ensure entries are recorded accurately
- Prepare and organize supporting schedules for internal reporting
- Assist with cash management and bank reconciliations
- Provide support during audits by gathering and organizing documentation
- Collaborate with other internal teams as needed to support accounting processes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
- Understanding of GAAP fundamentals
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)
- Understanding of debits and credits
- Experience with accounting software/ERP systems
