We are looking for a new ideal team player as an Assembler in the Assembly Department! The Assembler is responsible for performing repetitive line-assembly and kitting operations to prepare products for shipment. Duties include operating packaging machinery, inspecting products for quality, and using tools & equipment such as scanners, pallet jacks and shrink wrap machines. This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and maintain a clean, organized work area while following safety regulations. No prior experience is required, but attention to detail, time management, and the ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision are essential.
- Perform kitting and assembly tasks using hands and occasional hand tools.
- Package small containers into retail boxes and cartons.
- Operate packaging equipment, including blister machines, shrink wrap machines, and pallet jacks (manual and electric).
- Inspect packaged products to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety standards.
- Lift, move, and stack items weighing up to:
- 10 lbs. (products and components)
- 25 lbs. (counter displays)
- 50 lbs. (floor displays)
- Stand for up to 5 consecutive hours without a break.
- Complete tasks as assigned by the department supervisor.
This is a safety-sensitive position and should not be under the influence of any substance.
Requirements:
You may have experience in a manufacturing facility, but if you don’t that’s okay, we will train you! We prefer you have a high school diploma or a General Education Degree (G.E.D).
- Technical aptitude for operating packaging and warehouse equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Time management skills to meet production deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks or equipment.
Work Schedule
The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. with a 1-hour lunch break.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, often lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Equipment Used
Blister machine, box cutter, hand and machine taper, forklift, pack mule, and other mechanical devices used in a warehouse.
A Typical Day
A typical day as an Assembler involves working at a packaging station or assembly line to prepare products for shipment. The day starts with a morning team meeting to discuss what to focus on for that day. Employees then work on gathering materials and setting up packaging equipment, such as blister machines or shrink wrap machines. Throughout the shift, you’ll assemble, kit, and package products, inspect them for quality, and stack them on pallets or into cartons. You’ll regularly lift and move items of varying weights, keep your work area clean and organized, and follow safety procedures. Some tasks are completed independently, and others require working with coworkers.
Every Wednesday, you will head to the lunchroom at 11:40 a.m. for the weekly Cosmos Minute, where the entire company meets at 11:45 a.m. to learn about other team members and special company announcements at Cosmos.
