Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A high school special education teacher position is available for the 2025-2026 school year, focusing on moderate to severe needs classrooms. This contract role requires onsite presence in Aurora, CO, and involves serving as a case manager responsible for maintaining detailed documentation and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to high school students with moderate to severe special education needs.
  • Manage all case-related paperwork and ensure compliance with Colorado special education regulations.
  • Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers to support student success.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience teaching in Colorado schools with a strong understanding of state special education procedures.
  • Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) special education certification or application in progress.
  • Proven ability to manage case files and documentation accurately.
  • Flexibility to engage in both direct classroom instruction and administrative responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
