Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Registered Nurse with Operating Room experience is sought for a contract position at a healthcare facility located in Naval Anacost Annex, Washington, DC. This role offers a dynamic environment serving various surgical specialties, providing an excellent opportunity to apply diverse OR nursing skills.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled nursing care across general OR, bariatrics, ENT, neurology, orthopedics, and urology surgical lines.
- Support specialized procedures including total joint replacements, spine surgeries, craniotomies, free flap reconstructions, cytoreduction, bariatrics, and ENT/OMF surgeries.
- Float as needed within units of equivalent or lower acuity to maintain operational efficiency.
- Fulfill on-call responsibilities, averaging six calls over a six-week schedule.
- Work one weekend shift every six weeks.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, including mandatory flu vaccination.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience.
- Current DC nursing license or ability to provide proof of pending DC license status at application; DC license must be obtained before the start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Ability to float among multiple surgical units.
- Experience with specialized OR skills and procedures listed above.
Schedule:
- Evening shifts: 3 shifts per week, each 12 hours (11:00 AM 11:30 PM).
