Job Title: HR Generalist
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: HR Director
Location: Owensboro, KY/Evansville, IN
FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist provides support across a range of human resources functions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a motivated early-career professional who is eager to develop foundational HR skills while supporting the day-to-day needs of production employees and plant leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the interpretation and communication of HR policies, procedures, and practices to employees and supervisors.
  • Support the maintenance and updating of policy documentation, employee handbooks, and compliance posters across the sites.
  • Help ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, EEO, ADA).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, disciplinary records, and training logs.
  • Participate in internal audits and assist in preparing documentation for external audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Assist with administering attendance policies, documenting infractions, and supporting corrective action procedures in coordination with supervisors.
  • Track and monitor compliance-related data such as mandatory trainings, certifications, safety incidents, and I-9 records.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding timekeeping, policies, and HR procedures.
  • Support investigations of employee concerns or complaints by gathering documentation and assisting with fact-finding efforts.
  • Help coordinate compliance and policy-related training sessions for employees and supervisors.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure HR-related compliance with health and safety policies and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, preferred
  • 2-3 years of HR Generalist, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Basic understanding of employment laws and HR compliance practices.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ADP is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.

  • Comfortable working in a production floor environment as needed.
  • Strong initiative and willingness to learn in a dynamic environment.
