Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Patient Care Services/Shift Manager/Designee, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Responsible for the preoperative preparation of patients, including baseline assessment, skin preparation as required, and completion of the surgical checklist. Responsible for Phase II recovery of surgical patients including monitoring of physiological status, surgical wound care and discharge teaching.

Minimum Education: BSN preferred
Minimum Experience/Skills: 1 year med surg experience (8 hour) 1 year tele experience for pre-op holding (12 hour)
License/Certificates/Credentials: Current: California RN license, ACLS and PALS certification within 3 months.TCAR required within 12 months of hire/transfer . For current employees within the department, TCAR must be obtained by October 1, 2019.
Working Conditions: Regularly exposed to the risk of contagious and blood borne diseases, subject to varying and unpredictable situations, exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness), emergency and crisis situations, subject to irregular hours, occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries, occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances, and biohazards.
