Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Tiverton is seeking a proactive and resourceful Sr. Vice President (“SVP”), Credit Underwriting & Execution who can provide the highest quality financial and investment analysis for Tiverton, while also undertaking various other tasks endemic to a fast-growing company. The desired candidate will be a detail oriented problem solver with the desire to work in a dynamic environment.
The SVP will be an integral part of the credit team at Tiverton and lead deal teams as they pursue creative structured finance solutions for potential borrowers. The successful SVP will be self-motivated and energized by working with a group of thoughtful, smart, and skilled colleagues. He or she will enjoy being a part of a young and hungry organization focused on becoming the pre-eminent investment firm in US food production.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with business development team to screen and evalutate new opportunities
- Analyze and conduct due diligence and underwriting on private credit investments in US food production
- Lead an underwriting team in building and modifying cash flow, valuation and transaction models
- Prepare investment memorandums; present recommendations and due diligence findings
- Partner with legal counsel to review deal terms; negotiate and execute investment transactions
- Lead and mentor underwriting analysts and associates
- Portfolio management, credit monitoring, and reporting
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or other related majors
- A minimum of 8+ years’ experience in private credit, commercial banking or investment banking
- Ability to create advanced financial models and comprehensive understanding of accounting principles
- Understanding of core credit legal docs, including loan agreements, notes, intercreditors, DACAs and title and lease documents
- Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Dedicated work ethic, commitment to enhancing the team, and problem-solving skills
- A willingness to travel, as needed (potential to be ~10-20%)
