Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Finance and Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing financial accounts, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. This role involves preparing financial reports, performing financial reconciliation, and overseeing payroll. Proficiency in QuickBooks or other financial software, financial data automation, Microsoft Excel, and GAAP knowledge are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Report Preparation: Generate, prepare and distribute accurate and timely financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for management review.
- Data Entry: Perform accurate data entry for all financial transactions, ensuring proper classification and documentation of receipts, payments, and other financial data.
- Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile financial records to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data.
- Financial Software Management: Utilize financial software, preferably QuickBooks to manage accounts, process invoices, track expenses, and generate financial reports.
- Financial Data Automation: Implement and maintain automated processes to streamline financial data entry and reporting, improving accuracy and efficiency.
- Bookkeeping: Maintain up-to-date financial records and ledgers, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Payroll Processing: Calculate and process employee payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payments, tax withholdings, and deductions.
- Support Month-End / Year-End Closing: Support the month end reconciliations and ensure all documentation is in sync with the records.
- Other Responsibilities: Assist with financial proposals in the payments industry; learn and understand the payments industry processes in the financial data flows; administrative tasks as needed to assist general company goals
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an accounting specialist or similar accounting role.
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance requirements.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with payroll processing, including tax calculations and filings.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in a FinTech or software company preferred.
Education & Experience:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required, Bachelor’s preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping or financial operations within a technology or financial services environment.
