Maintenance Electrician
LOCATION: Commerce, CA
SCHEDULE: 2 pm-10 pm OR Night 10pm-6am
OPEN to either shift.


PRIMARY POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshooting and corrective maintenance.
  • Under minimal supervision, plans, lays out, installs and repairs complex electrical equipment, including
    automatic and process controls, switchboards, control centers and panels, relays, circuit breakers, and
    electronic controls.
  • Sets up secondary distribution centers, balances loads, wires or lays out the wiring of complex circuits
    with a large number of connections.
  • Replaces or repairs parts, detects and replaces defective control modules, tests and makes adjustments,
    runs conduit and pulls wires.
  • Assists with mechanical equipment repair as required. Such as roll changes as needed
  • Understanding of all relevant quality management system factors and documents
  • Understanding of the Quality Policy, how the individual’s performance contributes to meeting of the Critical Success Factors and specific job category or position related procedures.

POSITION REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • Five or more years of experience as a maintenance electrician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of National Electric Code
  • Two years of course work in electronic/electrical technology resulting in a certification or degree
  • Position holder will have a high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Ability to speak and comprehend the English language as determined through appropriate testing and/or the interview process.
  • Able to read and comprehend and to legibly write the English language as determined through appropriate testing and/or the interview process.
  • Mathematics and reasoning skills as determined through applicable aptitude and achievement tests.
  • A position in areas, such as the maintenance department where specific skills such as electrical knowledge are required, will require documented evidence of competency in those skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated spaces.
