Maintenance Electrician
LOCATION: Commerce, CA
SCHEDULE: 2 pm-10 pm OR Night 10pm-6am
OPEN to either shift.
PRIMARY POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshooting and corrective maintenance.
- Under minimal supervision, plans, lays out, installs and repairs complex electrical equipment, including
automatic and process controls, switchboards, control centers and panels, relays, circuit breakers, and
electronic controls. - Sets up secondary distribution centers, balances loads, wires or lays out the wiring of complex circuits
with a large number of connections. - Replaces or repairs parts, detects and replaces defective control modules, tests and makes adjustments,
runs conduit and pulls wires. - Assists with mechanical equipment repair as required. Such as roll changes as needed
- Understanding of all relevant quality management system factors and documents
- Understanding of the Quality Policy, how the individual’s performance contributes to meeting of the Critical Success Factors and specific job category or position related procedures.
POSITION REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
- Five or more years of experience as a maintenance electrician in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of National Electric Code
- Two years of course work in electronic/electrical technology resulting in a certification or degree
- Position holder will have a high school diploma or equivalency.
- Ability to speak and comprehend the English language as determined through appropriate testing and/or the interview process.
- Able to read and comprehend and to legibly write the English language as determined through appropriate testing and/or the interview process.
- Mathematics and reasoning skills as determined through applicable aptitude and achievement tests.
- A position in areas, such as the maintenance department where specific skills such as electrical knowledge are required, will require documented evidence of competency in those skills.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated spaces.
