Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Deliver advanced nursing care in a specialized progressive care/stepdown environment focused on neuro and stroke patients. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide expert clinical care on a 12-hour night shift with a team dedicated to managing complex patient needs in a dynamic setting. Ideal candidates will have experience in neuro or stroke care and possess essential certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing evaluation of patients with neuro and multisystem conditions.
- Develop, implement, and adjust nursing care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams based on patient needs.
- Safely administer medications and manage cardiac drips within scope of practice.
- Coordinate patient care and serve as a point of contact among hospital departments and families.
- Advocate for patient safety, quality of life, and ethical care decisions.
- Deliver culturally competent care, emphasizing psychosocial support during illness or injury.
- Maintain adherence to professional nursing standards and facility protocols.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN license, state-specific or compact.
- Minimum one year of RN experience; neuro, stroke, or acute care background preferred.
- Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and critical care nursing preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting and respond adeptly to changing patient conditions.
